Having studied music theory and composition at Western Michigan University, Mr. Cain has most recently played drums for the Northern California-based bands Sway, nûs and Dance the Moon. As the founding member of nûs, he recorded a CD for SubRosa Records under the direction of renowned producer Bill Laswell.
A multi-talented instrumentalist, his latest project, When the Wind is High consists entirely of his own compositions and performances.
Mr. Cain describes his music as a blend of ambient, tribal and new age styles. His musical influences range from Igor Stravinsky and Kurt Weil to Stuart Copeland and new age artists Kenneth Newby, Steve Roach and Stephen Kent.
