where I live
Welcome to the new digs. This a great living space, and about half the distance from work as the previous place. I can ride my bicycle from here in the same time it took me to drive before. There are some nice amenities here; three pools, a weight room and sauna, but, alas no spa. The grounds are very well taken care of, and as you walk around the place, you come across little fountains with benches for sitting and chatting or whatever.
The neighbors are great. The floor plan is set up so that the room my drums are in has no common wall with any other unit; only the woman who lives upstairs can even hear them, and she doesn't care if I practice at my favorite time - about 6:30 am.
They put in new carpet right before I moved in, so TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF!
| I really liked this fireplace immediately when I looked at the place. There is sort of a ledge/mantle on the left side of it, as you can see, and my recorders are sitting there. To the right of it is the digeridoo my father sent me during his world travels. I really need to learn to play it. |
|
| I haven't really played any guitar for quite a few years now, so I got one out of it's case and just put it in the corner by the couch. I figured if I did that, maybe I'd pick it up and play it a bit. It's working, too! |
|
| This is the dining area, but I never dine here unless I'm working on the computer and eating dinner at the same time, which, actually I'm doing right now. The ceiling lamp whaps my head nicely - the plan is to replace it with a ceiling fan. |
|
| This is the definition of the 'Galley Kitchen'. It's as small as it looks, still it is plenty big enough for me. The window looks out to the pool area, but is far enough away so that the pool users and I don't annoy each other. |

Updated 6/07 This place is rented as a one bedroom with a den. The only difference I can see here between this and a 2-bedroom is that the 'Den' has these bi-fold slat doors instead of solid ones. (There are even 2 lavs here.) It could easily be a second bedroom. This is where all the music stuff lives. |
|
| Here's the bedroom. The windows look out onto a section of "patio" that is just open ground. If I'm here a while, I'm going to put in pea gravel, some evergreens and a bench and turn this space into a meditation garden. |

As usual, I'm always open to having visitors.
